Brandon Wins, The Champ Wakes Up

Brandon Ge was 21st last week, and his best finish all season was 9th. Sunday he put up 178.62 and won by 9.84. Right behind him was Matt Meres, last season's champion, who walked in 2 for 2 on dead last and walked out with 168.78 and his first check of the year.

🥇 Brandon Ge, 178.62 pts, $58.00 🥈 Matt Meres, 168.78 pts, $29.00 🥉 Harrison Hale, 157.66 pts, $14.50 4th: Jared Berquist, 150.80 pts, $7.25 · 5th: Traci Phelps, 150.44 pts, $7.25

Harrison Hale (27th last week) and Traci Phelps (28th) both bounced straight into the top five, and Harrison's 3rd is his first podium. The commissioner went 16th, 0.02 behind Nick Stoltz, and is now 17th and 16th since those two runner-ups.

Under the radar: Kyle Tatum took the last paying spot at 129.24. Robbie VanCourt finished 11th at 128.66. That's 0.58 between $5.80 and nothing, and four of five weeks now the 10th/11th line has come down to less than a point. Kyle has cashed back to back (4th, then 10th). Kevin Tatum finished 29th of 29.

Power Rankings shuffle: Jared Berquist is the new #1 (2nd to 1st) after going 1st, 3rd and 4th the last three weeks, and Cody slides to 2nd. Traci climbs to 3rd, which bumps Tyler Phelps to 4th. Brandon Ge is the week's biggest mover, 23rd to 5th, with Harrison Hale (18th to 6th) and Matt Meres (32nd, dead last on the board, to 20th) both up 12. Going the other way, Marcel Gough drops 9 to 17th by not showing up, Peyton Hale falls 7 to 22nd, and Robert Bridges slides 5 to 10th after a 26th, his worst finish of the year.

Accountability Corner: 29 of 34 played, down from 30. Edris Ibrahim and Tyler Brock are now 0 for 5. Sean Amedick has missed three straight. Marcel Gough and Cameron Aud sat out for the second time each. $5 refund each. Blaze Swift came back from his Week 4 absence and cashed in 6th.

Season money: Cody Alesandrini $132.80 · Jared Berquist $80.25 · Traci Phelps $63.05 (Brandon Ge is a nickel back at $63.00)

High score of the week: Brandon Ge, 178.62, fifth-best of the season and 0.30 short of the 178.92 the commissioner lost with in Week 2.

Cody Alesandrini missed the money by a tenth of a point last week. This week he put up 180.80 and won by 24.88, the biggest margin of the season, to become the league's first two-time winner.

🥇 Cody Alesandrini, 180.80 pts, $60.00 🥈 Marcus Bailey, 155.92 pts, $30.00 🥉 Jared Berquist, 145.88 pts, $15.00 4th: Kyle Tatum, 143.82 pts, $7.50 · 5th: Jack Gooding, 143.58 pts, $7.50

Three rookies in the top five, the most in any week so far, led by Marcus Bailey, whose best finish before Sunday was 13th. The commissioner followed two straight runner-ups with a 17th, and the three Phelpses combined for 17th, 22nd and 28th.

Under the radar: Brian Smith took the last paying spot at 133.00. Marcel Gough finished 11th at 132.80. Two tenths of a point, $6.00 to Brian, nothing for Marcel, and Cody can tell him all about it. Jack Gooding has now gone 28th, 17th, 14th, 5th, and missed 4th by 0.24.

Power Rankings shuffle: Cody is back at #1 (3rd to 1st) and Jared climbs to 2nd. Tyler Phelps's reign lasted one week: he drops to 3rd, with Traci sliding from 2nd to 4th. Marcus Bailey is the week's biggest mover, 20th to 6th, with Jack Gooding (23rd to 11th) and Kyle Tatum (29th to 19th) close behind. Skylar Hays drops 8 spots to 14th after a 26th, and Blaze Swift falls 7 to 12th by not showing up.

Accountability Corner: 30 of 34 played, up from 29. Edris Ibrahim and Tyler Brock are now 0 for 4. Sean Amedick has missed two straight, and Blaze Swift sat out for the first time. $5 refund each. Matt Meres, last season's champion, finally came back and finished 30th of 30, so he's 2 for 2 on dead last.

Season money: Cody Alesandrini $127.00 · Jared Berquist $73.00 · Traci Phelps $55.80 (Cody is $1.80 short of the next two combined)

High score of the week: Cody Alesandrini, 180.80, third-best of the season behind Jared's 188.04 and Traci's 183.18.

Jared Berquist finally got one. First win since he joined the league last year, and he didn't sneak it: 188.04, the highest score anyone's posted all season, 17.18 clear of the field. He was 22nd last week.

🥇 Jared Berquist, 188.04 pts, $58.00 🥈 Tyler Phelps, 170.86 pts, $29.00 🥉 Marcel Gough, 162.16 pts, $14.50 4th: Nick Stoltz, 151.56 pts, $7.25 · 5th: Brian Smith, 146.70 pts, $7.25

Marcel Gough skipped the opener, went 14th in his debut, and is on the podium in contest number two. Meanwhile the commissioner is runner-up for the second straight week, which is starting to feel personal.

Under the radar: Traci Phelps took the last paying spot at 135.60. Cody Alesandrini finished 11th at 135.50. One tenth of a point, $5.80 to Traci, nothing for Cody. And Peyton Hale went from 3rd last week to dead last at 78.72.

Power Rankings shuffle: Tyler Phelps is the new #1 (4th to 1st) without a single win, so two runner-ups are doing a lot of heavy lifting. Cody slides to 3rd. Marcel is the week's biggest mover, 28th to 9th, and Jared jumps 19th to 4th. Sean Amedick drops 10 spots to 24th by not showing up.

Accountability Corner: 29 of 34 played, up from 25. Edris Ibrahim and Tyler Brock are now 0 for 3. Matt Meres, last season's champion, has sat out two straight. Sean Amedick and Daniel Goldberg joined the no-show list this week. $5 refund each.

Season money: Cody Alesandrini $67.00 · Jared Berquist $58.00 · Traci Phelps $55.80 (Tyler Phelps right behind at $54.00)

High score of the week: Jared Berquist, 188.04, and the new season high, passing Traci's 183.18.

Traci Phelps was 14th last week. This week she posted 183.18 — the highest score anyone's put up all season — and held off the commissioner by 4.26. Tyler Phelps ran 2nd and gets to think about that all week.

🥇 Traci Phelps — 183.18 pts — $50.00 🥈 Tyler Phelps — 178.92 pts — $25.00 🥉 Peyton Hale — 164.38 pts — $12.50 4th: Blaze Swift — 162.56 pts — $6.25 · 5th: Robert Bridges — 160.42 pts — $6.25

Peyton Hale went 22nd to 3rd, so that's three straight rookie podiums to open the year. Whatever the veterans are doing, it isn't working.

Under the radar: Cody Alesandrini won Week 1 and grabbed the last paying spot here at 10th — $5.00 and still the season money leader. Skylar Hays wasn't as lucky: last week's runner-up missed the money by 4.74.

Power Rankings shuffle: Cody holds #1 by 0.31 over Traci — closest gap on the board. Peyton Hale is the week's big mover, 22nd to 6th. Going the other way, Eli Jackel fell 16 spots to 27th by not playing, which is one way to do it.

Accountability Corner: 25 played, down from 31. Seven Week 1 entrants sat this one out, including Matt Meres — last season's champion, now 69.46 and a no-show through two weeks. Marcel Gough came back from his Week 1 absence and went 14th. Edris Ibrahim and Tyler Brock are 0 for 2.

Season money: Cody Alesandrini $67.00 · Traci Phelps $50.00 · Skylar Hays $31.00

High score of the week: Traci Phelps, 183.18 — and the season high so far.

Opening weekend and Cody Alesandrini kicks the door in — 174.76 to take it down by 4.42. Skylar Hays announces himself in his first week ever with a runner-up finish, and Justin Lindstrom completes the podium.

🥇 Cody Alesandrini — 174.76 pts — $62.00 🥈 Skylar Hays — 170.34 pts — $31.00 🥉 Justin Lindstrom — 161.66 pts — $15.50 4th: Robbie VanCourt — 158.22 pts — $7.75 · 5th: Chandler Earnhart — 157.30 pts — $7.75

Two rookies in the top five, and last season's champion Matt Meres in dead last — 69.46, a full 18 points adrift of 30th. Title defense off to a flying start.

Under the radar: Four of the ten paying spots went to rookies. Harrison Hale took the last one by 0.66 over Eli Jackel — rookie edging rookie for the final $6.20.

Power Rankings shuffle: First snapshot of the year, so there's nothing to move from yet. Cody, Skylar and Justin open at the top on the strength of one Sunday. Everybody else has 21 weeks to do something about it.

Accountability Corner: 31 of 34 played the opener. Edris Ibrahim, Tyler Brock and Marcel Gough sat it out — $5 refund each, and nobody's on the clock yet. That starts now.

Season money: Cody Alesandrini $62.00 · Skylar Hays $31.00 · Justin Lindstrom $15.50 (one week in, so it's just the podium — check back when it actually means something)

High score of the week: Cody Alesandrini, 174.76.
